This is a post just for fun. If you nerd out over words, if a thesaurus is your favorite book, it might be of interest.

Do not take my awesome sweater words from me - A list of words that cannot replace awesome || Funky Jungle - mindful fashion and quirky personal style blog

I am reading articles about bloggin, or more specific writing in general, a lot and recently I have come across an article titled something like "10 words you need to stop using right now" addresseing not specifically bloggers, but anyone who writes.

Among those were pretty sensible suggestions, like not using "really" as part of a statement. You know what he/she is talking about. You do it. The people that comment on your blog do it. "I really really really like that sweater. Really." Why do we feel the need to add really? Do we think (subconsciouslt maybe) we aren't convincing if we do not emphasize that we really really really mean what we are saying?

... or "The Unexpected Side Effects of Finding Your Passion". Or "Some things you have to experience before you fully understand them instead of just storing the information."

5 Things I Wouldn't Have Fully Believed About Blogging Before I Started

Originally I had a different topic planned for part 2 of this series, and then another again, but I am nothing if not flexible. Thanks sticky notes!

Both changes of mind came about after reading the comments on the first thread "5 Things that helped me become a better blogger". It seems that the editorial calendar was and is a bit of a sticky (hah!) point for many. It certainly was for me.

So, "How to Blog" Topics are all the rage about right now, must be because blogging is all the rage right now. Here's my take on it. No, I am not going to tell you what social media you need to be on. I wouldn't know. Or how many times you need to post. Or that you need or not need to do this or that with your comments. This all depends so much on your personality, ultimate goal and reader demographics. No, I am just going to tell you what tools helped me personally becoming a "better" blogger over the course of my short blogging career. And most of it is about the mindset.
