"... with a little something something from Donna Karan in my luggage"
I've read this phrase (or a very close version there of) many years ago and I don't actually remember who said it, but it stuck with me and ever since then for me a piece of designer wear is "a little something something". A special treat.
I think with the
OOTD from last Friday I've left absolutely no doubt anymore that I love printed tees, right? Well today I'm trying to bring you over to the graphic side...

Yellow is one of THE colors for spring & summer 2015 according to popular opinion. It's the color of the sun, flowers, sunflowers and usually associated with happiness. Smiling faces. Laughter. Joy. Here are some options how you can incorporate "the happy colour" into your wardrobe and adopt it for your personal looks.
I do my own fair bit of
online shopping, as you will know, and for a variety of reasons, but I also really love to go out and visit the local brick & mortar stores. Here are 5 Funky Reasons Why.
5 Reasons for Shopping in a Real Store
There are five simple questions I use when shopping (for clothes mostly) to make sure I only buy things I love or need and stay on budget. Applying these helps me to not spend my money unwisely.

15 Gift Ideas. And I would love to have each and every single one of them. Because no matter the outer layer, deep down inside I'll always be a geek that loves starships.
Putting this little guide together I got lost in a wormhole made up of possibilities and I could have easily made a list of 50, pfff 100, things that I would enjoy getting from the two sites I used. Shiny, shiny, shiny.
So the truth is, the list really is for me... Yet I wonder, is there anyone in this world who wouldn't want to read Vader's Little Princess?
A small selection of cozy but stylish knitwear to keep you warm and snuggle in whilst still being chic and fashionable. Outside. Or on the couch. With a cup of your prefered hot beverage.

A New Love
Where as before they almost couldn't be big enough, and still being drawn in by promise of storage room, I have recently started a love affair with cross body mini bags.
This is the one I recently bought at Asos, you can find it
here. Or
here in a different color
hier. Oder
hier in einer anderen Farbe.

Sales season is now officially on us and even tho the brick & mortar shops around here have yet to start with summer sales, online shops all over the world already did. And if the italian version of the site doesn't have the sales yet, well we just order in Germany. Besides, some companies and stores do pre-sales discounts for their long time clients. Or those on the mailing lists...
As the title suggests, I have already treated me to some new things. Among them my first purchase at Asos (can I get a background cheer from those Asos people over there?).
We love flowers
I can almost smell the summer sales already, can you? Infact in some parts of the world, or with some retailers, they have already begun. And maybe I was subconciously conditioned by that first sentence, because in the end I realized I had picked out an entire garden collection of flower prints.
Nonetheless, as a whole or taken as single item, this list would make a great addition to my wardrobe.
Posso quasi annusare i saldi d'estate, e voi?

Nothing like Summer Nights. When the warm air caresses your skin. Cocktails (with or without alcohol). Friends & Lovers. Pool Party or Beach Bar. Walking along a promenade. Sitting and watching the boats at the Marina. Holidays, or simply a night out.
That was my inspiration when I surfed the waves of the web for this weeks Friday's Fashion Find.
Here is what I came up with, starting with these two dresses from Mango.
Amici e amori. Feste in
piscina o al bar in spiaggia. Passeggiare sul lungomare. Sedersi a

As you might have guessed, the aim of Friday's Fashion Find is to show you all manner of things "fashion" that I find around the web. Or elsewhere.
So what is F.I.N.E.?
F.I.N.E. or Fun Is Not Expensive is a brand producing bags and other accessories that I found reading Twiggy Magazine, a publication I think sadly is no more. Or they put out an edition every couple of months only. It was so delightfully quirky.
I really liked the prints and designs of the F.I.N.E. bags and their brand philosophy, so I thought I'd share it with you all. Too bad the designs in the magazine aren't on the site anymore as it is a bit older. Yes, I keep old fashion mags around, I still have a host of Velvet editions.
Do you read print fashion magazines? And do you keep the old ones?
On to the pictures!
From the collection S/S 2014:
Party Coco - Ipanema
The Sunday before the last one we went to the lake for a walk. It was not cold, but clouded and in fact later on there would be a storm.
That weekend the festival of lakes took place, so lots of merchant booths and attractions throughout the town. I love festivals and fairs. I love walking along checking out merchant wares and discovering things you do not find in your garden variety of mall stores.
Here are some of the pictures I took that day:

The furniture you see in the pictures above was made out of wood and corrugated cardboard. Very funky. Quirky stuff like that makes me happy. On the lake they held rowing competitions.
Well it is finally warm enough for even me to want to shed the socks (I am notorious for easily having cold) so I thought we could take about summer shoes, sandals in specific.
I love them under a light flowing maxi dress, a playful short dress and I will love them under my new capri length wide leg pants I think.
Here are some picks from around the web that I think are in themselves quite versatile and could be good company for ones clothing for the whole summer.
My first stop was Sarenza, a shopping site dedicated to shoes, and it would almost have been my last, as I got lost in their seemingly endless selection of beautiful shoes.
Sarenza - Desigual - Iria
Ciao!
So it seems I was very lucky yesterday and got the weather I ordered.
Today I am going to do a slightly different version of Friday's Fashion Find as I will show you a couple of things I actually bought already.
Last Saturday Mango offered a 30% discount on its current collection and called it Shopping Day.
I ... couldn't resist.
Especially since I am still in a desperate pant situation. So many beautiful shirts, tops, blouses etc and struggling with the bottom parts. None of my old pants (from before pregnancy or shortly after) really fit anymore. My body changed a hell of a lot after I started with Karate. Constant physical activity tends to do that to you.
Or, if they were kind of fitting, they left me go bleah. When I did my closet cleaning, I let go of about half. Approximately.
So nude colors are all the rage now and ballet flats have been fairly in style for ages. Considering that, it was very hard for me to resist these, especially considering that they were the first ballets I tried this year that didn't start tight-shoe-torture on the first step. I don't have feet that make it easy to find shoes, not even sneakers. They are very particular, my feet. Selective. Can't just put any old thing on them.
Also, there wasn't an adult sized slide within miles.
I think they are cute, do you agree?
Sigh. We were actually on the search for a pair of shoes for my son who has outgrown his spring/summer shoes. Then I found these for a fab price in the kids department of the Puma store:
I have a suspicion that they are boys sneakers, but details like that don't stop me. I once bought a great fitting short t-shirt (if I ever remember, I'll post some pics) in 3 colors at Benetton, only to find out a couple months later reading the label inside that I bought a shirt ment for boys age 8/9.
So on the first Friday's Fashion Find of 2014 I talked about wanting to buy a new bag, since I was missing a larger one in more neutral colors. I ended up buying this one in a local store, from a local brand.
As a general rule, I prefer to do this, support local businesses with my money, even if it means spending a little bit more. So if I have to/can choose, I will pick "Made in Italy" (and yes, I know...) over others, provided I actually like the model, the material and manufacturing of course. But if one goes outside of big retailers, there are usually options.
Voilà, my new bag in neutral colors!
---
