Today I'm going to let mostly the pictures do the talking. These are from a Sunday trip maybe three weeks ago. We went up the Monte Maddalena, which is the mountain just to the north of Brescia. Up there we did one of the easier hikes through the forest, which takes about one hour.

I was wearing the ... chinos. Hah! They are just too darn good for everything. And in a last hooray to summer, a tank top with lace back. Which by the way, is a great layering piece too, as you soon will see. Plus my trusty hiking companions, the Puma sneakers. They work well enough for easy hikes like we do at the moment.

After the dinner outfit, now something which is quite the juxtaposition. The clothes I wore for a trip to Lago Moro where we went one Sunday for some walking. We actually travelled there by train & shuttle bus as opposed to car. I really enjoyed this. Somehow going by train it felt more like travelling instead of moving from the point of start to the point of destination, and preferably as quick as possible.

Lago/Lake Moro is a small lake in the Italian Alpes above Darfo Boario Terme in the Val Camonica and unless you are a resident up there, you aren't allowed to go up by car most of the time. Hence the shuttle bus. You can walk all around the lake, it's a fairly quick & easy hike. We did that and then stopped at the official bathing spot to hang our feet in the water for a bit. I definitely want to go back up there next summer for some actual bathing.

This was the first excursion we did with my parents. It was just a quick trip really, as they were still recovering from a long, several hours road trip. Doing the same trip twice a year myself, I know just how drained you are after doing nothing for hours but sitting in a car. And yes, even with pauses and trying to stay entertained & engaged.

Castle Quistini is located at Rovato, a small town in the Franciacorta which is the region to the west of Brescia. The gardens are open to public visit during some periods of the year and they also have a space where they host wedding receptions and similar.

Monte Isola

Around came the first really hot weekend here in Italy. We went to Monte Isola, an island in the Iseo Lake. The idea was to do the hike all around said island. Then came the first steep climb and we had to change plans because our son could not keep up. It was just too hot under the sun.

Mantova / Mantua

Another trip together with my parents, this time we visited the city of Mantova (Mantua) which has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2008. To learn a bit more about the history, go here.

Un altra gita fatta con i miei genitori, questa volta abbiamo visitato Mantova, che fa parte del UNESCO World Heritage dal 2008. Per imparare di più sulla città e sulla sua storia, guarda anche qui.

If you've been following me for awhile you may remember me posting pics of these ballet flats fresh out of the shopping bag. Here I am wearing them for the first time. Yay.

Se mi seguite da un po' magari vi ricordate che avevo postato le foto di queste ballerine appena uscite dalla borsa shopping. Qui le ho messe per la prima volta. Yay.
When the sun comes out on Sunday, we are heading to some nice place for the afternoon. This time, we had a walk along the promenade in Salò at Lake Garda.

I felt daring so I went for a print mix, but not too daring as I kept it within two colors, the easy and always a winner combination black & white. Instead, I added some color with the shoes and the bag.

We are back at the Villa Mazzuchelli!

I've mentioned in the other post about the exhibition that it was divided in two/three parts. One, as you already know, dedicated to the Italian designer Gianfranco Ferrè. The second part was more generally showing clothing from different eras. And then there was the vintage market.

Today we are looking at the pictures from the general exhibition part.

On Sunday May 18th I went to a fashion exhibition that took place over 3 days in this beautiful old Villa in a town near Brescia.

The exhibition was divided in two parts. One was dedicated to Gianfranco Ferré and the second part was fashion covering the whole century. In addition, there were Vintage stores from the area presenting their wares on two floors.

Today I am showing you the pictures I took at the part presenting Gianfranco Ferré's work. Such wonderful clothing, a lot of it in silk. I wanted to steal it off the mannequins and make a run for it.
